June was all about activation. From the quiet rollout of the Teneo AI Agent Testnet to the community-powered reveal of the new mascot, everything this month centred around movement - from planning to participation, from connected nodes to intelligent agents.

The shift from Community Nodes to fully operational AI Agents had been in the works for months. In June, it moved out of the lab and into the hands of the earliest supporters. The Testnet began its rollout with moderators, ambassadors, and a group of early adopters whitelisted based on past activity and readiness. Their mission: activate browser-based agents, follow setup flows, and provide feedback that will shape the public release.

The mascot challenge also reached its conclusion. From over 700 community submissions, three creators stood out with designs that captured different facets of what Teneo represents: openness, intelligence, and energy. The top entry became the creative springboard for the protocol's visual identity going forward. The official Teneo mascot - Echo - was fine-tuned internally after the community vote and revealed in July.

Toward the end of June, the Teneo tag launched as a custom identifier for Discord profiles, adding a visible layer of identity for active contributors. The Ambassador Program also began expanding to the next wave - helping bring more structure, education, and energy to the ecosystem from every region.

Teneo was featured in a RockawayX deep dive examining the rise of permissioned APIs and positioning Teneo as one of the few protocols building a permissionless coordination layer for open web data. The piece concluded: "While others build agents, Teneo builds the network that powers them."
