Chapter 02
Understanding the Teneo Protocol Community Nodes
This chapter explores the function of the Teneo Protocol Community Node and its unique features.
What is a Community Node?
A Community Node is a lightweight Chrome browser extension that contributes to Teneo Protocol's decentralized data network. By sharing unused internet bandwidth, you help power a global infrastructure for AI agents while earning Teneo Protocol Points.
Community Nodes are designed to be simple. Installation takes under two minutes and requires no technical experience. If you can install a Chrome extension, you can run a Community Node.
How Community Nodes work
Once installed, the Community Node runs silently in the background. It shares a small portion of your unused bandwidth with the Teneo Protocol network, allowing AI agents to access real-time data from across the internet.
Each "heartbeat" your node sends to the network earns points. The longer you stay connected, the more points you accumulate. Your node becomes a productive part of a global decentralized infrastructure.
Earning with Community Nodes
Every Community Node earns Teneo Protocol Points automatically while connected. Points accumulate based on uptime, heartbeat signals, and network contribution.
You can track your earnings, daily points, and heartbeat status via the Teneo Protocol Dashboard. Referral bonuses let you earn a percentage of every point your friends earn, automatically.
Community Node vs Teneo Protocol Beacon
The Community Node is the browser extension version. It is the simplest way to get started with Teneo Protocol. The Teneo Protocol Beacon is a native app that earns 2x more points, adds a Fragments reward layer, and supports multi-device stacking.
Both contribute to the same network. The Community Node is ideal for getting started quickly. The Beacon is the upgrade path for users who want to maximize their earnings.
